Submissions

This biennial award encourages, promotes and rewards excellence in teaching and learning at the school level.

It complements University and faculty awards and Australian Learning and Teaching Council Awards for University Teaching.

Overview

The Teaching and Learning Committee introduced a Distinguished Departmental Teaching and Learning Award in 1998, however, in 2002, with the implementation of University-wide restructuring the focus of this Award shifted to the schools.

Procedures

The Award process has been streamlined with the University practice of cyclical school reviews.

School Teaching Portfolios, which are prepared as part of the review process, are automatically considered for the next Distinguished Teaching and Learning Award for Schools. However, all schools, including those not participating in this review cycle, are encouraged to submit a teaching portfolio in accordance with the guidelines.

The deadline for submissions for the 2010 award is 30 January 2011.
