Membership
Members are appointed for the life of the reference group.
Two year term
After an initial term of two years, the continuation of the group will be decided by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) in consultation with members.
The implementation reference group is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the TQI project that will provide a framework for recognising quality teaching within UWA.
Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning), this executive reference group, established in December 2008, continues the work of the TQI steering group.
Meetings
The group meets up to four times per year, or as determined by the convenor. A quorum of four is required. All questions are decided by a majority of members present and voting. The Chair of the group has an ordinary vote and a casting vote.
Roles and responsibilities
The implementation reference group provides advice and expertise to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) on implementation of proposals arising from the teaching quality indicators pilot project. The group will oversee the revision of policy and guidelines for the effective implementation of the project proposals.
The group
- maintains the implementation plan, including the allocation of responsibilities for particular tasks
- considers the need for additional resources for implementation and applies for resources from appropriate sources
- provides advice and support to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) and the Senior Administrative Officer, Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, in relation to implementation
- assists where possible in the allocation of existing resources and personnel within the sections represented on the group to progress the implementation.
Convenor
- oversees the implementation of the project’s proposals and takes executive responsibility for the outcomes of the TQI project
- provides advice and support to the executive officer
- convenes meetings of the implementation reference group and ensures accurate and timely distribution of meeting papers.
Executive Officer
- coordinates the implementation of the TQI project’s proposals under the direction of the implementation reference group
- coordinates communication for the group, including the distribution of agenda and minutes
- prepares briefing notes, proposals and summaries for the group as required.
