
Education Policy Services (EPS) contributes to leadership and provides policy advice regarding Teaching and Learning activities across the University.
It was established in early 2007 as one of three sections within the Directorate of Governance Services within the Registrar’s Office. This small team takes a positive and proactive approach to problem solving, administration, management and leadership.
Roles and responsibilities
The role of Education Policy Services is to:
- contribute to policy and strategy, as well as oversee and implement initiatives, that improve the student learning experience
- support the reward and recognition of excellence in teaching University-wide
- manage and provide professional advice to Teaching and Learning related committees
- design, develop, evaluate and advise on policies, processes and schemes that support the University's priorities within the Operational Priorities Plan
- contribute to the leadership and administration of Teaching and Learning/education related activities at the central level
- promulgate and monitor accountability, and report on University-wide Teaching and Learning related policies.
The section supports the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor who has oversight of the overall education portfolio and the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) who is responsible for the teaching and learning components of this portfolio.
