University Awards
A number of grants and schemes are available for staff to develop their skills, improve their courses or enhance the learning experience of students.
UWA Strategic schemes
- Teaching Fellowship Scheme funds four UWA Fellowships annually, valued at $22,000 each, for staff undertaking projects that support the University's education priorities identified in the Operational Priorities Plan.
- Learning and Teaching Performance Fund - rewards universities that best demonstrate excellence in undergraduate learning and teaching.
- Travel grants for Teaching and Learning Committee members - enables members to broaden their knowledge of teaching and learning issues by attending conferences and symposia.
- Teaching and Learning Development Fund - finances schemes that focus on the education priorities of the Operational Priorities Plan and the Teaching and Learning Management Plan.
UWA Teaching development grants
- Distinguished Visiting Teachers Fund - encourages visits to the University by teachers with a national or international reputation.
- Improving Student Learning (ISL) - provides small grants to encourage teachers to make practical and innovative changes to their units to improve current practice.
- Postgraduate Teaching Internship Scheme - allows promising doctoral research students (including professional doctoral students) to develop teaching skills and to undertake professional development activities.

- Australian Learning and Teaching Council - provides grants and awards to support quality teaching and learning.
