Department for Education, Employment and Workplace Relations 

The Federal Government rewards universities that best demonstrate excellence in undergraduate learning and teaching through performance fund grants.

Overview 

Since the fund was announced in 2003 as part of the Government’s Our Universities: Backing Australia’s Future reforms, UWA has received grants each year.

  • $3.954 million in 2009
  • $4.798 million in 2008
  • $4.226 million in 2007
  • $2.58 million in 2006

Funding and allocations 2009 

Funds are distributed throughout the University at the discretion of the University Executive. In 2009, $2.7 million was distributed to faculties and $1.254 million to central funds.

Faculty 

  • Submissions have closed.
  • Final reports are due by 14 February 2011.

Central

  • Deadline for submissions is 1 November 2009
  • Send submissions  to Sue Smurthwaite, Associate Director, Education Policy Services.

Further grants will not be made from this Federal Government scheme after 2009.
